Please come 15 minutes early to register children for the first time.
Every 4th Sunday of the month is a Teen Program, where teen will be shown new ways of looking at things, explore, create, and have fun! Facilitated by Hazel Bowman, RScP.
Our Youth & Family Program is headed up by Erin Smith and Diane Gesell, RScP both professional school teachers.
This is a chance for Parents of our youth to have an evening out with our Sunday Youth Teachers. The children will do a craft, watch a movie and have healthy snacks. Parents must register their children ahead of time. Please talk to one our directors, Erin Smith or Diane Gesell.
The Center for Spiritual Living Prescott follows the curriculum provided by the Centers for Spiritual Living. The curriculum, a result of many sacred visioning sessions, is based on “What We Believe” (or the “Declaration of Principles”) by our founder Dr. Ernest Holmes.
Our children are our future leaders, and we believe in providing opportunities for our youth to experience the blessings of spiritual development through education.
The lessons follow the life cycles of the seasons and offer age-specific, fun and engaging content designed to enhance children’s spiritual development and enlightenment.
We ask that all children be signed in to Youth and Family no earlier than 10:15 am. Children need to be signed out again after service, and we ask that parents come to the classroom as soon as possible after service to pick them up. Please make every effort to be on time so that class is not disrupted by late arrivals.
Please make sure your child has had a chance to use the restroom and eat something before service starts. Because so many children have allergies or follow particular menus, we do not offer snacks except on special occasions.
Understand that some of our congregation is sensitive to fragrance. If you or your child uses any kind of perfume, consider leaving it off until after service.
We recommend that parents attend one of the teachers’ trainings so that you understand our teaching philosophy and approach.
And above all, if there’s something you don’t understand, please ask a Lead Teacher! Better to ask and be clear than to guess.
Teachers are trained. All Youth and Family Lead Teachers have completed the Foundations class and some are Licensed Professional Practitioners of this philosophy. All receive continual training in the Science of Mind principles as outlined in Youth/Family Curriculum.
Your kids will be safe and respected. In order to provide the safest environment for our children, all teachers are finger printed and subject to criminal background checks.
Your kids will have fun. We try to teach Science of Mind principles in such a way that your child feels affirmed and valued. We are committed to teaching these principles in a way that is age-appropriate and fun!
We will do everything in our power to create a safe and friendly environment for your child; accepting that child as perfect, whole and complete as he or she is. If your child is unable to participate in class, we will come and get you so that you may handle any issues.
